Shortly after the official presentation of the tech giant Google’s mini camera, Google Clips, Elon Musk shared a message on Twitter as a response to a video of The Verge headline describing the new gadget of Google. Few words “This does not even seem innocent” that literally means “This does not even seem to be innocent” that sound like a heavy accusation against the tech giant Google because their real meaning is summed up in a word “shameless”. For Elon Musk, therefore, the new Google Clips camera is literally “shameless.” The reference, of course, is the artificial intelligence system that decides completely independently and without the need for an Internet connection when recording a video or taking a picture.

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 7, 2017 Indeed, the use of Google Clips may raise some doubts about privacy management. In fact, the camera takes a picture or records a video when it recognizes a person’s face without, however, never having seen it before. Anyone, therefore, could be resumed without knowing it. Only one LED indicates that the camera is on. The tech giant Google did not want to comment on Elon Musk’s claims, however, a company spokesman told CNET that Google Clips is just a camera designed to capture 7-second short clips of the most significant moments of a person. Since no Internet connection is required, no data is transferred to the outside. Therefore, it is up to the user to save and share the content. For Elon Musk, therefore, these solutions are dangerous and invasive to people’s privacy. His personal battle against the use of non-regulation of artificial intelligence will surely continue but goes on, however, stressed that in technological progress, no one can be really “innocent”. The Tesla can be updated remotely and recently the company has expanded the autonomy of some Model S and Model X in the areas affected by Hurricane Irma to increase its autonomy. Potentially, therefore, Tesla could do anything remotely. The problem, therefore, is perhaps not artificial intelligence, but what big tech firms can really do with their products with customers who must, of course, trust their actions.
